2011 Mission Critical Goals for Find Cheap Bargains

Forgive me this one little post about my plans for the site in the coming year...I'll be back to reviewing products tomorrow, I promise!
When I started Find Cheap Bargains in the middle of 2008, I planned on the site becoming a place where I could post coupons from the many different online stores to help our visitors shop for bargains, or at least make the product he or she might be interested in purchasing a little bit cheaper.
In the middle of 2009, I realized that it was almost unbearable to try and keep up with all of the coupons and daily sales available. As this is more typically a one man show than not, there wasn't enough time in the day to write good quality content to go along with each sale or offer presented to us. So I began to just focus on a single product every week. A good quality product, and then provide the places where you were most likely to find the best bargain.
Coming into 2010, it was becoming very apparent to me that if I wrote enough quality content for each product, content that actually told the reader something they didn't already know about a product, or information that they could not receive elsewhere, those product reviews did a much better job than the ones where I just "winged it". Winging it doesn't mean that what I wrote wasn't truthful; in fact everything I have written is factual to my knowledge, or even better in my own experience. "Winging it" means that I was picking products that I assumed my readers were interested in seeing, or products that lacked competition. I just wasn't that interested in a lot of them, and the content showed as much.
Midway through the spring of this year, I finally decided to write at least one good quality content review a day, and just see what happened. The product reviews needed to be at least a bit interesting to me, or it wouldn't work. The quality or lack thereof, would show through. The results have actually been amazing, and traffic shot up 10x due to this. I can't say that every article I have written since was high quality; I did have a few bouts of sickness during the year where I just didn't have the energy to provide the high quality, but I believe for the most part, the articles written have been helpful to my readers.
This of course brings me to 2011 and my mission critical goals. Actually it's just one goal or one resolution that I have for Find Cheap Bargains in 2011:
To provide even more information with each and every product review this year.
I believe I can still provide the one product review per day as has been done throughout 2010 and yet still include more information within each one. In the last few months, I've added video and other website references to each post, and that will continue. I also want to attract more response from the readers regarding the products found on our site because this it's imperative to have differing points of view, outside my own or the other writers for the site. Reader provided content balances out the content and really gives the prospective buyer a better point of view on each product and should help to make a better purchasing decision.
I had thought that one of my goals should be to strive for less wordiness, but I think the words are helpful. Even this post is running close to 600 words, and that's okay. There might be products where I just can't get that many words in a review, and I'll try to not get too wordy on those. If I can't review it more, then I shouldn't try. But the main mission critical goal still stands: more information with each and every product review. Do you have mission critical goals for your business with the start of a New Year?
