I finally made the upgrade to an HD television recently, and after about a month or so later decided that I wanted to get the most out of my investment. So, with this in mind, I decided that it was time to put some money into a Blu-Ray player. The wife was already slightly upset with me for spending so much on the TV, so I decided to play it safe and try to find a Blu-Ray player that wasn't too expensive. That's actually what first attracted me to the Sylvania NB530SLX Blu-Ray Player. As far as Blu-Ray players go, the NB530SLX was one of the most affordable ones I could find. I have to say I got way more than I expected.

The co-axial audio on the Sylvania NB530SLX blu ray player is great to have. It made getting true surround sound out of my home theater very easy. Hooking it up was quick and easy. The player worked right out of the box. There wasn't a bunch of settings to toggle and options to select to get it to work. Which is nice, because I really wanted to get into watching the stack of fancy new Blu-Ray discs that I bought.

The picture is great. It's really one of the only pieces of equipment that I have that supports 1080p. It just looks amazing. What's really nice is that after I got done with all my new Blu-Ray movies, I was still able to watch all my old DVDs on it. But not only that, the Sylvania NB530SLX blu-ray disc player upconverts my old DVDs to 1080p and it supports progressive scan. This let me watch all my great movies that haven't come out on Blu-Ray yet on my HD TV without having to stretch the picture, letter boxing or worry about artifacting being compounded by the fact I was watching it at a higher resolution. So while they're not quite as good as the Blu-ray movies, they still look better than ever. Needless to say, this made the wife happy because her old movies look great and I didn't have to spend a fortune replacing all my old movies.
All said in done, this is really a bang for your buck Blu-ray player. I recommend getting the Sylvania NB530SLX blu-ray player and then using the money you save on your player for a few extra movies to watch on it!
