The Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain is a high powered, 850 watt juice fountain which can be used for everything from honeydew melons to turnips and beets if you choose (not me though; do not like the beets!). The Breville JE98XL juicer can handle both the softer fruits and the ridiculously hard vegetables due to the device being built with two stages of power. You will of course need a lot more rpm's (12,000) to get those beets juiced, but for a honeydew, you might rather keep it at 6,500 rpm's from completely stredding the juice while extracting the pulp.

The Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain includes a 3-inch wide chute, just like the higher priced Breville juicers. Having a 3-inch wide chute allows you to keep preparation of the fruits and veggies to a minimum by allowing for a lot of large chunks to be juiced at a time. Even if the food just barely fits, use the included plunger to push the food down the chute and into the juicer (do not stuff the chute full, especially with hard, non wet foods as they might become stuck).

The Breville JE98XL juice fountain has a detachable pulp collector for quick and easy removal of all the pulp associated with the juicing process. The pulp collector is just about the same height as the body of the JE98XL, giving you a lot of extra juicing time before it needs to be removed and dumped to the compost pile.

The JE98XL also includes a jug with a froth separator for collecting the juice itself. You are not required to use the 1 liter jug, but because it does fit very easily into place below the juicing spigot, it's a handy little jug to have!

And that's the Breville JE98XL juice fountain reviewed in a nut shell! You might be asking, well what's the difference in the JE98XL and the 800JEXL Juice Fountain. Well to be honest, it's not an awful lot! The higher priced juicer does have more power (1,000 instead of 800 watts). It also has a higher maximum rpm (13,000 instead of 12,000 rpm's). But maybe the main difference is the titanium blade and titanium filter in the 800JEXL compared to the stainless steel ones in the JE98XL. The titanium blade supposedly cuts the fruits and veggies cleaner, keeping the stredding of the food particles to a minimum (supposedly healthier for you this way). The titanium filter is far easier to clean because food doesn't as readily stick to it as it does a stainless steel filter.

But if you are new to juicing, it's difficult to drop $300 on a new juicer. It's also frustrating to spending less than $100 for a juicer and realize that it's not worth the money you paid for it. And that's why a bridge juicer, like the Breville JE98X Juice Fountain is such a great bargain. It practically does everything the more expensive juicers do, but much easier on your bank account!
