Making a buying decision on a product in the price range of the new Canon EOS 7D digital camera is never an easy one. Coming in at the suggested retail price of $1,399 $1,699, the EOS 7D isn’t one of the cheaper cameras and is definitely designed for the serious photographer. With features like blazing fast eight fps continuous shooting, 18-Megapixel Resolution and high performance HD Video recording, this is a digital camera that is taking the digital SLR to new heights.
Canon has gone to great lengths to totally redesign the auto focus system with their new multi-axis cross-type 19-point AF grid. This new system allows the camera to focus all the way down to a 5.6 aperture setting, making this a camera that one could shoot in low lighting situations and when shooting fast action scenes.

Videographers will appreciate the thought that Canon has put into the Canon EOS 7D's video capabilities. There is a full manual setting which allows the user to adjust Shutter, Aperture, and exposure compensation giving this camera very impressive quality, sharpness, and detail for a digital camera. A 4GB card will hold about 12 minutes of video so an extra memory card is a must if you plan on shooting a lot of video.

The 18-megapixel APS-C format CMOS sensor on the Canon EOS7D provides excellent resolution and light sensitivity for remarkable poster-sized prints with excellent detail and dazzling color. The camera provides 8 fps continuous shooting for still photos, making it one of the fastest shooting EOS models to date and enabling photographers to capture those special images with ease.
All in all, this reviewer found very little not to like about the Canon EOS 7D digital SLR camera. The one drawback that I could find was the steep learning curve involved with learning not only what the camera was capable of but just how to make use of its many features. Other than that, the Canon EOS7D digital camera should be on the short list of any serious photographer that wants to upgrade their existing shooting arsenal.
