I have always been a fan of Canon digital cameras. So when I was browsing the web and found the Canon Powershot SD1200IS digital camera, I decided I had to take a closer look. I had been frustrated with my old camera lagging behind in quality, so I figured it was time for a new one.

One of the best qualities of the Powershot SD1200IS digital camera, at least for me, is the 10.0 megapixel resolution. This enables me to take photos with a high enough quality that I can make large photo prints for placing in photo frames. With my old camera, I found the quality severely lacking when I tried to make medium to large prints of my photos.

Another feature that I love about the Powershot SD1200IS is the well sized LCD screen for viewing picture previews. I had grown tired of my old camera's tendency of showing me tiny previews that made it almost impossible to discern whether the photo I had just taken was going to work for my purposes or not. With the PureColor LCD II screen, not only are my photo previews large enough for me to conveniently view them, but this screen also seems to display a wide range of colors extremely well. No more looking at a picture preview that looks nothing like the end result!

Of course, not all of the features of the Canon Powershot SD1200IS camera are as amazing as those features. The face detection and red eye elimination work well, but they aren't anything that is going to "wow" you. I found the Smart AUTO technology to work well when it comes to detecting and automatically determining the proper settings for any given situation.

Overall, the Canon Powershot SD1200IS digital camera is an excellent camera for anyone who isn't wanting to go spend several hundred dollars on a high powered camera. I found mine to be an excellent replacement for my old Canon camera.
