The touch screen also allows you to auto focus or zoom in on specific areas of the shot just by touching that area of the screen. And the touch screen on the Canon SD3500IS allows for quick viewing of the photos already taken by sliding through the photos as they are stored in memory. If you own an iPhone, think about how the iPhone's screen works in camera mode, and it's practically the same. The SD3500IS just makes better photos than the iPhone, obviously!

With a 14.1 megapixel resolution, the Canon PowerShot SD3500IS digital camera is capable of creating some of the best quality photos available in a digital compact. It uses an eleven millimeter CCD sensor and coupled with the 5x optical zoom will allow for huge, highly detailed photos!
It wouldn't be a modern digital compact camera without the ability to record some level of HD video, and the Canon Powershot Digital Elph SD3500IS camera doesn't let you down in that area. Capable of 720p, the Canon SD3500IS uses the image stabilizers to record fairly smooth video at 30 frames per seconds that you can either watch on the SD3500IS itself, or playback on your HDTV (connected to the mini-HDMI port). That being said, the 720p you record with the SD3500IS could be better, and will have noticeable blocking the larger the playback device you use. The camera itself will have the video looking remarkable, while a 52" HDTV might not look as great.
Canon continues the new tradition of attaching wide angled lenses to their compact/pocket cameras, and have placed a 24 millimeter ultra-wide angle lens into the PowerShot SD3500IS. The focal length is betwen 24 and 120 millimeters making the SD3500IS like a 35 mm camera, and with the 5x optical zoom and 4x digital zoom, you'll be pleasantly pleased with your abilities to capture the shot you want from whatever distance you should choose.
The Canon PowerShot SD3500IS digital camera is a great camera to purchase if you want to try out the latest technology behind touch screen devices. The touch screen might not be what the more experienced photographer wants, in that they might want to manually play with the focus or shutter, but for a quick, all around great camera that you can take anywhere and not worry about the shots, the Canon SD3500IS is a great buy!
