The Canon PowerShot SD4000IS Digital Camera is a high end point and shoot camera from Canon, yet also fits into the compact mode. The fact that it carries a 10 megapixel resolution might just be enough for most people, but Canon didn't stop there. They also added a CMOS sensor with a back light and coupled it with their DIGIC 4 procesor to create low cost camera capable of creating spectacular high-res photos in extremely low light situations.
The Canon SD4000IS camera comes by it's design through family, as it is a part of the ELPH line of cameras. And as an ELPH camera, you expect unique features like low light technology. Canon makes this possible through a lens with a specific aperture: f/2.0. This aperture means that it can capture photos especially well in the afore-mentioed low-light situations as the lens is very open to allow the light in. This also means that it can capture photos with a shallow depth of field. Meaning that the object you are photographing will be in focus, but the background will not.
