We'll follow-up on the Casio EX-Z550 digital camera for a review a little bit later on, but wanted to get the camera out in front today since it is an Amazon Deal of the Day (March 29th). Today's special price for the Casio EX-Z550 camera is just $79.99, a reduction of at least $20 from yesterday's price. And we say "at least" because all four colors are available today, and pricing was different between the black, blue, red, and pink Casio EX-Z550 cameras yesterday.
The Casio EX-Z550 digital camera features a 14.1 megapixel capable sensor for high quality photos in a small, light, point-and-shoot camera. The EX-Z550's lens is wide angle with 4x zoom for capturing large panoramic shots or solid close-ups. And the ever popular (at least for me) is the image stabilization to help out those of us with the shaky hands issue!

The Casio EX-Z550 digital camera also makes a good camcorder for such a small little camera. Resolution for the video has a max capability of 720p, so you almost have the best in HD quality video, and honestly most of us wouldn't notice the difference in 720p and 1080p, especially in the 30 frames/second rate. So the Casio EX-Z550 camera's abilities should work just fine.

One thing we would have liked to seen is a mini-HDMI output for the camera so the photos and video could be played directly from the EX-Z550 to an HDTV in the 720p format. Unfortunately, the Casio EX-Z550 requires that you use the USB interface instead to play your creations directly from the camera. You are able to save all photos and video to an SD or SDHC memory card, and then port those over to your HDTV, but that's a bit cumbersome (in our opinion). We do understand that the camera is a bit too small for both outputs and USB is probably more necessary than HDMI.
The Casio EX-Z550 digital camera has a 2.7" LCD screen for shot selection and setup. The screen covers most of the back of the EX-Z550, so we shouldn't be surprised to find that a viewfinder is missing. But most of the competitors for this camera do not include viewfinders today. In fact, it's very difficult to find a cheap point-and-shoot camera that does have a viewfinder.
On a sub-$100 camera, it's hard to beat the bargain you'll find with the Casio EX-Z550. The camera can do just about everything you need a point-and-shoot camera to do, without the hassle of carrying around a larger camera or manually adjusting settings!
