The Canon EOS 30D Digital SLR Camera is an 8.2 MP (megapixel) camera which creates photo quality prints at up to 16" x 22" in size. The EOD 30D features a large 2.5" LCD monitor for easier picture taking, and can be viewed from behind by almost any angle. With the Canon 30D, you can choose high or low speed shooting of either 5 frame or 3 frames per second to make sure you get the best shot with moving targets.

As part of the Canon EOS style of camera that Canon sells, the Canon EOS 30D is compatible with all Canon EF and EF-S lenses, plus EX-series Speedlites. Meaning that if you own an older EOS camera, and want the newer versions, but love your old lens or flash unit, you can still use those items with the Canon 30D. Most new units of the Canon 30D camera are sold with an EF-S 18mm-55mm zoom lens, so if you don't already own an EF lens, you won't have to purchase addtional hardware to use this camera.

The Canon EOS 30D Digital Camera is the newer version of the Canon 20D if you have that camera and like its design and functions. Look for pricing on the Canon 30d to be in the $600-$900 range. Used 30D cameras will be considerably less: $130 - $400 depending on if a lens comes with the package. Because the Canon 30D is a few years old, it does have a newer big brother in the Canon EOS 50D. However, people still purchase the 30D due this version being a bit cheaper, and yet still has the incredibly quick 5 frames per second shooting.
