The Dodge Sprinter van was most known for being one of the few utility vans on the market that had a little bit of style to go along with it. In addition to a much less boxy styling all around like its competitors, the Dodge Sprinter was designed to carry either cargo (and lots of it), or up to 18 passengers, and was very easy to switch from one to the other without a great deal of difficulty. Again, unlike its competitors, the Dodge Sprinter came with enough headroom to seat everyone comfortably, even if you did try the 18 passenger maximum.

With a dual-use type of vehicle, there will also be those that attempt to find even more uses for the van. And thus, the Dodge Sprinter Wheelchair van was also introduced. While not initially built or designed to be able to carry wheelchair passengers, the Dodge Sprinter again had enough headroom to allow the porting of wheelchair and wheelchair ramps not only possible but also very affordable.

Sadly, the Dodge Sprinter is no longer manufactured by Dodge. The vehicle was originally a Mercedes van and was only allowed to carry the Dodge badge due to Mercedes owning the company. When Mercedes left, the Sprinter went with them, making the latest model van available from the 2009 model year.

But like all utility vans, the Dodge Sprinter will be on the road for many years to come, as these vans are built for long lifespans. And it doesn't mean the end of the Dodge Sprinter Wheelchair van either. Kits are still sold today and and can be placed in practically any Sprinter still running on the road. Or at least can be added onto the Sprinter 2500 edition.

FedEx and UPS loved the vans, and you will still see them in use by those companies today. Hospitals used them for ambulances and other rescue type applications, too.
