Juicing machines like the Cuisinart CJE-1000 Juice Extractor don't get to the top of the review pile in this category mainly because the Breville line of machines tend to take all interest away. At least for the centrifugal types anyway. However, we feel like you should take a look at the Cuisinart CJE-1000 for a couple of reasons. One is the price is much, much better for this machine than the higher-end Breville juicers. And to go along with the price issue, a lot of people find that juicing just isn't for them, and it might be better to purchase on the lower-end than the higher.

That might be just a bit too truthful to handle, but it's true. A significant portion of people who take up juicing eventually fall away from it. Either because of short term dietary issues that were corrected with juice fasting or significant health improvements. Plus the added chore of cleaning the juicer after each use ends up being a hassle for people, and they fall away.

Notice that neither of those reasons focuses on the Cuisinart CJE-1000 juice extractor being the problem, though. Nope, in fact, the CJE-1000 juicer is pretty darn fantastic. It's 1000 watts of power give it all you need to juice the heck out of any fruit or vegetable you want. And with a 3-inch hopper, there's not much need in cutting anything beforehand. Or at least not more than a couple cuts to half larger fruits and vegetables.

The Cuisinart CJE-1000 sports a 5 speed knob on the side for an easy way to monitor the speed of the unit: to easily crank up the speed when placing more dense foods in the juicer and to crank it back down on soft fruits. The Cuisinart 1000 works pretty much like all other centrifugal type juicers with the rotating blade extracting the juice out into the included pitcher (one liter in size) and the pulp pushed out the back into the two liter container.

One issue with centrifugal juicers is the loudness factor, but the Cuisinart CJE-1000 is one of the quieter juicers available. That doesn't mean it can't or won't be loud. Throw a bunch of beats down into the hopper and it's going to get loud! Chances are that beets aren't going to be high on your juicing list and the variety of foods that most start with (apples, celery, carrots) will keep this machine pretty quite for a juicer.

The only real issue that we can find with the Cuisinart CJE-1000 juice extractor is that it does not do as good a job of extracting all of the juice as it's higher priced counterparts. If you've ever used a more expensive juicer like the Breville 800JEXL then comparing the pulp left over with the Cuisinart against that juicer will prove that more juice is left over in the Cuisinart. You can attribute most of the leftover to the pricier filtering system and titanium cutting discs in the Breville over the stainless steel varieties in this machine.

Barring wetter than expected pulp, we find that the Cuisinart CJE-1000 juice extractor can suit the beginning juicer just fine. The price tag is low enough to not make the whole project a miss if you choose to forego juicing in the future. And it's low enough that if you find that juicing is just the right wellness habit for you, you won't feel bad about not hitting the higher priced version first.
