At first glance, it might be difficult to expect much out of a sub $60 digital camera, but the Fujifilm FinePix J40 digital camera quickly shows just how good of a camera it is! The super thin body makes the Fujifilm J40 camera a perfect compact camera to be carried anywhere. 12.2 megapixel resolution allows the owner to create ultra sharp photos, and the 3" LCD screen allows you to focus quickly on your target. Add scene and facial recognition, and the ability to shoot panoramic photos, and you quickly find there's a lot more to the Fujifilm FinePix J40 digital camera than you expected!

Leading into the small size, the 3" LCD screen takes up most of the room on the back of the camera, leaving just a half inch for the J40 camera controls. But you don't need too many due to the Fujifilm Finepix J40 camera's automatic functions, which do the background work for you. The owner of the J40 should just be concerned on lining up your subjects for the shot you want to take.
With the addition of Scene Recognition, the Fujifilm J40 camera will automatically determine your environment and choose one of 17 built-in scenes to provide the best flash, ISO, aperture, shutter speed, balance, and focus for you. Because of the use of the LCD screen for all photo and video capture, there's always a chance for blurry or shaky photos, but not with the J40 camera. A stabilization system is built-in and provides a more stabilized picture or video for the photographer automatically.
One item that most would like to see in a digital camera is HD or close to HD video. The Fujifilm J40 camera does not provide this, and instead provides 640x480 video capabilities at 30 frames per second. If you are looking for HD quality video, you will need to go up a little higher in price to get quality HD. But for just short video clips, 640x480 is perfectly fine, especially if you are a bargain camera shopper.
In the end, the Fujifilm Finepix J40 digital camera provides many of the standard options you will find on most cameras around this price range: high resolution photos, automatic everything, 3x zoom, panoramic shots, and video recording. And we didn't really expect HD quality video from the J40 camera at this price range, although it would be nice to have! But realizing that the Finepix J40 is a bargain camera, the video quality that it does have is exceptable and makes the Fujifilm J40 camera a great purchase when you need a camera that's easy to use and easy to carry.
