I REALLY wanted a Green Machine when I was a kid, but was only able to ride the one at my buddies' house.  It was kinda like the Big Wheel (which I did own), but didn't have the handlebars you normally saw on the big wheel.  Instead, like you see below it had two handles which you pushed back and forth to steer the rear wheels instead of the front wheel.

Part of the fun with the Green Machine was that the plastic wheels allowed us to go really fast in a straight line, then pull back on the right stick while pressing the brakes.  If you times it right (or ran into enough gravel on the concrete), you could get it to go all the way around once or twice.  It was a sweet ride!

You can buy a Green Machine for your own kids by clicking this link or the picture below.  Amazon is carrying this one for just over $100.  There's also a Green Machine 2 which is a little more expensive and includes a safety flag.  If you really want to go all out, try the Green Machine H20.  It includes a rear water tank which shoots water around 20 feet forward.  At $320, it's a little pricey for most of us, but for that lucky kid whose parents can afford it, the H20 would be a treat!
