One of the most important things to know before you can use a chainsaw correctly is being aware of the chainsaw’s kickback. Kickback usually happens when the chainsaw bar is flung upwards uncontrollably during crosscutting, because the saw got caught on something. Wearing correct clothing and equipment is also needed to use a chainsaw correctly. The things you need to wear while sawing are approved safety helmets with a visor or goggle, safety boots and safety gloves, and earmuffs. Earmuffs might not seem important but they can prevent you from going deaf.
