While I am fairly partial to TurboTax and it's online program, I'm not particularly fond of the $146.99 price that I pay for Federal, State, and Business filing. Unfortunately, I'm almost completed our taxes for 2010, but if you haven't, take a look at the H&R Block At Home Tax software. Just for today, Amazon has all of the H&R Block At Home software packages at 50% off the regular retail price. If your filing is like ours and includes a business section, then the most you will pay if you purchase from Amazon today is $46.99 for the H&R Block Premium & Business. This particular package includes both a federal and a state return with the business tax questions built in. The efile is also included for free, making this $46.99 deal look a lot better than my $146 TurboTax.

The nerd in me wants to redo my taxes since the H&R Block At Home tax package is so much cheaper. I think my laziness will win out in the end, and just pay the extra money since I'm more comfortable with TurboTax.

There are several versions of the software to choose from besides the H&R Block Premium Home & Business version. For those who live in states without a state income tax, you can choose the Deluxe Federal plus eFile or Premium Home and Business with eFile. The software is designed for use on either Windows computers or Apple's Mac, which covers most of us. Unfortunately there is not a Linux version, so my Linux buddies will not be able to use this software, unless they feel like porting it to Wine.
