When a person is looking to buy a new camera, they usually are looking for one that has a few features and is easy to use. Many cameras that are on the market are very difficult to set-up and use from day to day, but not all cameras are complicated to use. The Leica V-LUX 20 is one of the easiest cameras to use a provides users with excellent specs to produce the clearest and best looking photos. With special features that are rarely found on other digital cameras, the Leica V-Lux 20 has a chance at being the best digital camera on the market.
Having a chance and actually doing are two different things, and so the Leica V-Lux 20 will appeal to some and be the perfect camera for them. While others will see the Leica V-Lux 20 as just an overpriced camera.

What makes the Leica V-Lux 20 camera great is the enhanced reach of the lens. Leica is most well-known for their lenses, and it's not surprising that Leica would put one of their best into their own camera. The DC Vario-Elmar built into the Lux 20 has an incredible 25 millimeter to 300 millimeter focal range. Add the 12x optical zoom, and the reach of the shots you can get from the V-Lux 20 far outpaces those of other manufacturers.

The first feature that users consider when they are looking to purchase a camera is the megapixel rating. For the average user, a 5 megapixel camera would be sufficient for taking pictures at just about any distance. The Leica V-LUX 20 digital camera has a 12 megapixel lens and a 12 times digital zoom for taking photos of objects at a great distance. The three inch display will allow users to preview their photos before they decide to keep or delete them. Overall, the 12 megapixels is perfect for taking photos that will look as if they were done by a professional.
Perhaps the best feature on the Leica V-LUX 20 digital camera is the integrated GPS function. There are very few cameras with this feature and this particular camera makes it easy to remember where each photo was taken. This is perfect for people who go on vacation and want to remember each location they visited. This feature can also serve as a digital reminder of where a son or daughter first road a bike or where a husband and wife first met. This feature may seem unnecessary, but there is going to be a time when a person is glad that their camera can remember where the photo was taken.
The GPS function is a bit of a "power hog", and so if you do not need it in every day shooting, I recommend that it be turned off. While Leica rates the V-Lux 20 as being capable of shooting 300 shots on a charge, the GPS mechanism seems to drop that down at least 10%-15%.
What we really like about the Leica V-Lux 20 doesn't have anything to do with the megapixel rating or the GPS. We love that the camera is designed for better handling than you'll find with other point-and-shoot cameras. For someone with rather large hands, it's difficult to get great shots from today's tiny cameras. The V-Lux 20 however has an integrated hand grip which serves to create a far steadier shooting platform for someone like me.
Leica V-LUX 20 Camera Photos
The Leica V-Lux 20 camera is also like it's counterpart point-and-shoot brethren in video recording, with 720p maximum resolution. Unlike the other cameras in this category, the 12x zoom is also available during HD video recording. I wouldn't suggest using it a lot during shooting for obvious reasons, but a slow move in and out on your zoom should be beneficial to capture exactly what you want, when you want.
Overall, if you understand the quality of a Leica, and the price doesn't bother you, then check into the Leica V-Lux 20 today. It can take excellent photos, high-definition videos and even GPS stamp a photo to keep accurate records. The Leica V-LUX 20 digital camera is one of the most well-made cameras and provides users with features that cannot be found on other cameras.
