In the continuing quest to find the perfect Blu-ray player, we have the LG BD530 Blu-ray player today! The LG BD530 player's claim to fame is just how cheap the device is. At under $70 (currently), the LG BD530 features almost everything that's available in other network ready Blu-ray players. Upscaling DVD's, premium HD 1080p picture quality, and the ability to stream content from the internet, the LG BD530 attempts to become the one stop for all home entertainment. The only item missing from the LG BD530 Blu-ray player is the wireless capability that is carried by the more expensive Blu-ray players on the market.

Like all other Blu-ray players available, the LG BD530 is completely capable of providing the best quality picture at 1080p, so long as your HDTV is able to provide this as well. If not, the picture quality can be changed to 480i or 1080i, and in fact may already be set at 1080i when you open the package, so do check the menu for that option and change it. With the LG BD530, there's no need to run out and repurchase your favorite DVD's because the LG BD530 player will upscale them and provide a 1080p like picture via the HDMI connection to your television.

There are a couple of reasons why the LG BD530 Blu-ray player is so much cheaper than it's other network player ompetitors. One is the above mentioned exclusion of wireless capabilities. To use the internet services provided by the LG BD530 player, your player will need to be located close to your home's internet hub or router. If that's the case, then wireless may not be necessary for your home. The other option in using the LG BD530 and it's internet services is to rewire your home to provide internet services closer to the device. I would strongly suggest against doing this, and instead look at the LG BD570 Blu-ray player which does have wireless built-in.
The second reason that the LG BD530 Blu-ray player is cheaper than the competition is because the internet services for the player are much more limited. The only options (as of this writing) to stream across the internet are Youtube, AccuWeather, and Picasa (picture gallery service). NetCast,which provides Vudu and Netflix to other Blu-ray players, is not available on the LG BD530. If you have an internet capable HDTV or an Xbox 360, then you probably don't need these services through your Blu-ray player. But if you don't, and you want the services, again the BD570 will suit your purposes better.
The best part about the LG BD530 Blu-ray player is the price. Blu-ray player prices have been decreasing sharply over recent months, and the less than $70 price tag of the LG BD530 player shows just how far they've come. The BD530 player is a high quality Blu-ray player from one of the more trusted brands on the market. It does have limitations in the way of wireless connectivity and fewer internet options than some of it's competitors. But the LG BD530 Blu-ray player wasn't really designed for that purpose. It was designed to be a great little Blu-ray player to be used as a Blu-ray device and to save the consumer a good bit of money in the long run!
