The LG LHB535 home theater system is designed with 2 HDMI input ports, which some may find a bit low on a home theater. But this system is a network configured home theater, so you may not need more than 2 HDMI ports. With the built in Wi-Fi (or ethernet for wired internet), the new owner of the LG LHB535 system can stream many of the top entertainment portals directly to the HDTV. Services like Netflix, NetCast, CinemaNow, Vudu, and even Youtube allow you to watch high quality movies without connecting another device to the LG LHB535 home theater (subscriptions may be necessary though). And even though there's an integrated AM/FM radio, you also have Pandora radio access for streaming directly within your home theater. Weather updates through AccuWeather are also right at your fingertips with this LG home theater system.
Since the LG LHB535 home theater system is designed with Blu-ray, you're probably already aware that the video out via the HDMI port to your HDTV will be able to display at 1080p, and that's completely correct. The Blu-ray player is also able to play standard DVD's and upscale those to 1080p as well. This includeds DVD+RW, which you've burned yourself. The Blu-ray unit will also play CD+RW, which can carry copies of your music (MP3, AAC), or JPEG formatted pictures. The audio itself upscales to HD format.
Unfortunately, you won't find an iPhone dock for the LG LHB535 that works seamlessly. The LHB535 is only "made for" the iPod, and provides on-screen menus to scroll through the iPod's music. That's not the case with the iPhone. The owner of this device won't be able to control the iPhone with the LHB535's remote. I'm not sure that's a bad thing though, since most of the music I use on my iPhone is stored on my computer, and the LHB535 can connect wirelessly to any computer that is on the same wireless network. If you don't mind connecting to your computer instead, then the absence of a "made for" iPhone dock might not be a problem. iPod/iPhone jacks are designed into the front of the LHB535 home theater for ease of use. A USB port is located front-side as well, for your digital cameras that have that connection.
The LG LHB535 home theater system has an abundance of features that merge together to provide a well rounded device for any home. If your choice is to purchase a home theater system that includes a Blu-ray player, the ability to upscale your current DVD's, connect just a couple of other devices, and to also stream internet content, then the LG LHB535 home theater system is a good choice. If an Xbox 360 or PS3 is already owned, you may only need a surround sound receiver to complement what you are doing. The same goes if you already own a Blu-ray player. But to cut down on the clutter, or to streamline your home entertainment system into a a powerful "all in one" system, then the LG LHB535 home theater system is definitely worth a look!
