In Limitless Bradley Cooper plays Eddie Mora, a "writer" who kinda sucks at writing since he's got a contract to write a book but hasn't even started it yet. His girlfriend (Abbie Cornish) determines that he is a loser destined to always be a loser and dumps him. And because the only money he has is from the advance on the book, he's out of money and late on the rent. All hope is practically lost, and all Eddie wants to do is just lay around in his depression.

Then he chances upon an old friend, a former girlfriend's brother, whom Eddie knows as a previous drug dealer. Vernon (Johnny Whitworth) says he's turned legit and has a new product that Eddie might be interested in. A product that will allow him to use his total brain instead of the typical 20% that we humans normally are able to use. Eddie initially turns him down, but eventually relents and finds out that the drug does in fact work, making what he can achieve absolutely Limitless.

Limitless also reminds me of the ever increasing days I have where I have so much to do that I don't know where to start.  Nervous energy builds up and just spills out on everything at once.  In Limitless, and with the NZT drug, "Eddie" seems to be able to slow down time in his brain to allow him to accomplish all of the tasks he wants to do.  Finishing and completing a novel in one night, seeing great stock trades on his Quote Stream terminal, learning new languges; all of that he does extremely quick with focus.  Obviously it's not possible to do these things, but wouldn't it be pretty awesome if you could make your brain Limitless just for a little while?

Of course, everything doesn't go fantastically for Eddie Morra and the NZT drug; the movie is classified as a thriller after all!  I won't give away anything else in the movie, aside from that you should look forward to Robert De Niro's scenes.  I'm still not completely clear as to why Eddie Morra needed Carl Van Loon in the first place, but this Limitless movie can't go where it goes without Carl (De Niro) being present.  Apprently, Bradley Cooper's mind does have a limit after all if he needs others in his life.

If non-horror, so-called mild thrillers are appealing to you, then watch Limitless.  The movie has gotten great reviews and makes a fantastic film for a date night at home, or just whenever you need a good movie featuring two great actors (Bradley Cooper and Robert De Niro).  You can't go wrong in that respect.
