BMW R1200CLC Motorcycles for Sale
The BMW R1200CLC is a touring motorcycle which is actually built upon BMW's pre-eminent cruiser bike of almost the same name: the R1200C. And in fact, as you start to look at the R1200CLC, you do notice that the engine is pretty much the same: the 1170cc engine boxer engine is the same as on the R1200C including the four valves to a cylinder setup. But that's where most of the similarities stop!
Touring enthusiasts don't want to be bothered with a choke lever, so BMW revised the fuel injection system for the better performance needed in a touring motorcycle and built into it a circuit which enables "fast idle" automatically.
BMW also added a six speed transmission to the R1200CLC, which based upon reviews, is a better performer than the five-speed on the R1200 cruiser bike. Fuel consumption has also been reduced with the transmissions top gear which according to BMW reduces the vibrating of the motorcycle and keeps you on the road longer than you would expect from a 4 1/2 gallon fuel tank.
The BMW R1200CLC has a heftier rear frame than it's counterpart which is necessary for the touring bike's saddle bags, luggage racks, and case. In fact, the R1200CLC is heftier all around as it does weigh in around 720 pounds (at top fuel capacity). Of course a little luggage rack isn't going to cause a huge weight gain, but the addition of the rather large front fairing does add a good bit of weight to the front end of this BMW motorcycle. We won't say too many bad things about this fairing because it does provide a lot of wind relief to the motorcycle's driver and passenger, a huge plus for when you are on the road for hours at a time.
