My 1000th Post at Find Cheap Bargains
Pin It

I wanted to do something special for Find Cheap Bargains on my 1000th post, but I'm a bit at odds on that. You see, this site doesn't really ask for or even expect regular readers like most blogs do. In Blog school (yes, really it exists) they tell you to find a niche and write just in that niche to build a following of loyal readers. And I tried that for awhile, always writing about one thing on one site, or something on another, but eventually I would get bored and want to write about some item that just didn't fit that particular niche. So I could setup a whole new website for the new niche, or just let that particular item pass on by. If I setup a new website, then that took time away from the sites that were already doing good. Meaning that all suffered because of the one new site.
So Find Cheap Bargains was built based upon the fact that I have a lot of varied interests and love to research each of those interests intermittently. What that means is that today I might want to find out more on a particular camera: see if it really is a good camera, and see if there are any bargains available for it. Tomorrow, I may see a new Blu-ray player with the latest bells and whistles and want to research it. Don't believe someone could swing that wildly and still be successful? Just in the last week, I've placed reviews on a Suzuki GZ250 motorcycle, a backpack, Amazon's Trade-In Program, the Crysis 2 video game, and even an Onkyo A/V receiver. Yet, the site is still very successful, at least in my opinion.
This varied interest does lead back to the fact that I don't have regular subscribers or viewers of Find Cheap Bargains. But I have to tell you that I find that perfectly acceptable. There are a few blogs I know of that are designed like this, yet still capture enough interest in the viewers that do participate to keep going. It's not the easiest way to build a lot of traffic to a site, it's probably the slowest. But I'm more proud of this site than any of my other niche sites.
So with my 1000th post today, I hereby state that I will continue to "find cheap bargains" on products that are of interest to me. I hope that, if you are reading this post, you are able to find something interesting in the research we do here on our product reviews; maybe something you didn't know already. Or maybe you will find a coupon that works for a product that you want to buy. But the success of this site, this little 1,000 post blog of mine, can only point back to the fact that there are those out there who have also determined that the products we review are of interest to them as well. That personally makes me feel a little less weird to know that my hopping about from category to category is actually of benefit to the 2,500-3,000 of you who visit each and every day!
Oh and I will be reviewing a camera tomorrow, but maybe not a Blu-ray player the day after!
