Continuing our reviews of affordably priced point-and-shoot cameras is the Nikon Coolpix L22 digital camera. The L22 camera features a 12 megapixel sensor for quality shots that are just about as good as you can get in a point-and-shoot camera. You can get 14 megapixels in other point-and-shoot cameras, but you'll pay much more than the $99 the Nikon L22 is currently priced for to get that extra 2 megapixel resolution.
The Nikon L22 digital camera also features a very large LCD screen. Most digital point-and-shoot cameras in the L22's competition run at 2.5" to 2.7" but you'll get a nice and bright 3" LCD screen on the Nikon. And even though the screen is large, there's still plenty of room on the back of the L22 camera to spread out the controls into comfortable and useful positions.
Video or video clips are becoming more important to those who own point-and-shoot cameras, and most cameras do carry the ability to record video. The Nikon L22 digital camera does a little better job than most, with its ability to capture around 30 frames per second while recording. However, if you are looking for HD quality video, you might want to try another camera (like the Canon SD780IS). The video is good quality, at 640x480, which is as close as you can get to HD without being high def.

The best part about the Nikon Coolpix L22 camera is really in the name. With Nikon, you get the superior optics you expect out of a Nikon camera, without the huge cost. The NIKKOR glass lens features a focal length of 37mm to 134mm, which is really superb for a camera of this size. Couple it with the 3.6x optical zoom and you should be able to focus on just about anything you want, short of telescopic types photos of course!

Last but not least, if you have shaky or unsteady hands (like me), then Nikon has built image stabilization into the Nikon Coolpix L22 camera. The 3 directional VR image stabilizers compensate for any shaking you may have while taking your shots or recording video and attempt to keep the blurring or fuzziness to a minimum.
