The Nikon Coolpix S3000 digital camera is equipped with a rather large 12.0 megapixels of sharp resolution. And because of the 12 megapixels of resolution, you can print large and stunning pictures as big as 16 x 20 inches. Those photos won't have to be from far away however with the 4x optical Zoom Nikkor glass lens. The 4x optical zoom compares to 27 millimeters to 108 millimeters for shot availability, making it easier to capture brilliant shots from near or far.

We don't know of many digital cameras that can't reduce or eliminate the red eye effect, but with the Nikon S3000 camera's Smart Portrait system, you'll also be able to capture great portraits of smiling faces. The Smart Portrait system can register up to 12 faces in one shot, pick the primary face out of the group (based on focus), and release the shutter as the smile occurs. The system can also snap two shots at once, eliminating the need to retake due to closed eyes.
And the one last thing that rounds out the Nikon Coolpix S3000 camera rather nicely. This isn't without a bit of controversy, though, since Nikon states that the S3000 can record around an hour and a half of video. The problem is that the camera automatically stops recording at 29 minutes due to file size, so it's only about 1/3 of what they say you can record. We think the 1.5 hours is really the length of the battery time if recording was continuous. With 47 megabytes of internal memory, you'll stop recording much sooner than that, so it's definitely a good idea to purchase SD or SDHC cards.
