The 16.1 Megapixel Nikon Coolpix S8200 digital cameras are perfect for snapping sports and outdoors shots. This camera has a fast shooting capability for continuous pictures capturing every moment. The 14x optical zoom lens made by Nikkor boasts wide angles at 25mm and a 350mm telephoto with amazing true optical image stabilization. When combining the 2x optical zoom function delivers a phenomenal 700mm equivalent telephoto picture.

The Nikon S8200 camera adjusts itself automatically with the auto focus to 20 inches wide angle and telephoto is about 40 inches. Enabling macros will focus a close shot to about 0.4 inches in wide angle mode. A 3 inch LCD screen features a high resolution with an anti-reflective coating, wide angle viewing and five different levels of brightness.
High definition 1080p CMOS sensor has a quick speed burst video capture including sound in stereo. During video capturing you are able to use the optical zoom lens for those up close and personal movies. The Nikon Coolpix S8200 features two VGA video movie modes delivering slow motion and fast motion playback. The slow motion records at 60 frames per second and saves as a 15 frames per second video. The fast motion plays back at 60 frames per second at a 4x speed.

Special functions include still shots and movie capturing. Post capture filter functions include fisheye effects and selective color on still images only. The Nikon S8200 has remarkable clarity with vivid images and delivers quality pictures. All movies and images are stored on a SD (secure digital) card. Roughly 89 megabytes of internal memory storing a lot of images while on vacation.

The Bottom Line…
The differences in the S8100 and S8200 are not immediately seen if not familiar with the older camera, especially since both cameras look practically the same. However, the S8200 with its higher-res sensor (16.1 to the 12.1 megapixel on the S8100), more zoom (14x instead of 10x zoom), and of course the wider focal length give the Coolpix S8200 a higher performing stance at practically the same cost as its older brother from last year.
This beautiful Nikon Coolpix S8200 camera has all the bells and whistles you are looking for in a digital camera. High quality workmanship and a superb lens capture all the images and videos so a moment won’t be missed. Included is the battery pack, video cables and USB, AC charger, strap and the ViewNX 2 software on a CD. This digital camera is worth every penny and reasonable priced for quality imaging.
