Our review found the Olympus PEN E-PL1 camera to be remarkably light weight and does not weigh the photographer down, even after hours of carrying. It comes in many stylish colors and has a remarkable 2.7 inch high color and high contrast LCD screen. The camera turns on very quickly and on start up displays an onscreen message reminding the user to check the lens, which can be helpful to the forgetful user! The E-PL1 allows the user to have as much or as little control over the picture settings, such as white balance, stabilization and color temperature or even the settings within the scene mode that is selected and also has a built-in flash.

The E-PL1 also includes the single, continuous and a mix of both in its multi-point autofocus features. Along with the ability to control focus as you wish, the camera also provides extremely detailed image settings via the LCD t any time so that the user can view their selected view or the camera’s primary selected ISO level. There's even the choice of loading a histogram that outlines the RGB distribution within the picture.

Not to be left out, the Olympus PEN E-PL1 can also capture HD videos and high quality audio with the E-PL1. The camera has a “Direct Button” to make recording that much easier and captures images to SD and SDHC cards for the possibility of the simple transfers from the camera to the computer!
