The Onkyo HT-S3300 home theater receiver also includes the audio return channel feature to allow audio from the HDTV to be pushed through the receiver, and allow for the creation of surround sound even when you might not expect it. The Onkyo HT-S3300 also allows for lossless audio when the source features Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD audio codecs. Lossless audio expands the incoming audio to create a complete duplicate of the original audio as it was recorded, which means the Onkyo HT-S3300 can deliver studio quality sound in your home if your entertainment source is Dolby TrueHD or DTS-HD! You will rarely find lossless audio in entry-level home theater receivers, making this Onkyo receiver something extra special.
We also like the inclusion of the Audyssey listening system on the Onkyo HT-S3300 receiver. If you've ever been annoyed by having to constantly turn the volume up or down on your system, then you'll be interested in Audyssey. TV networks typically crank the volume up on commercials and then back down during the shows, keeping you running for the remote to adjust the volume. And a final word surround the speakers. We mentioned earlier that the Onkyo HT-S3300 home theater receiver is a 5.1 channel system. But we failed to mention that all new Onkyo HT-S3300 systems include speakers that are constructed to work specifically with the receiver: two front channel speakers for the full range of base, a center channel speaker, and two surround sound speakers to round out the configuration. Each speaker wire is color-coded to match the rear of the Onkyo HT-S3300, but that's a pretty normal setup for an entry-level home theater.
The Onkyo HT-S3300 home theater receiver has a lot to offer the audio or video enthusiast who wants a little more in a home theater system without the extra cost. And it also prepares its owner for the hopefully eventual upgrade to 3D HDTV viewing, making the Onkyo HT-S3300 a receiver you can count on for many years to come.
