This sensor is made by Panasonic and the purpose of it is to assist you with capturing absolutely amazing video footage. The microphone on the Panasonic HDC-TM55K has the ability to pick up the softest sounds. Recording format is in Dolby Digital so that the sounds you record match the 1080i quality of the HD video being recorded. Playback on any video or photos created through the HDC-TM55k camcorder is easy with the miniHDMI output available. Just hook the camcorder to your HDMI ready HDTV or receiver, and replay your work automatically.
With 8GB of built-in flash memory, you can get started right away using the Panasonic HDC-TM55K camcorder. However, you'll need to purchase a couple of SD/SDXC/SDHC memory cards to take advantage of the 1080i recording capability since HD formats take a lot of storage. Still 8 gigabytes will capture a lot of video, which means right from the start, you are capable of recording anything from anywhere, whenever you choose. In fact, hours of storage space are available with the provided 8GB of internal memory.
We think the 5 megapixel still photo resolution on the HDC-TM55K could be a bit higher considering the ability to record at 1080i. However a 5 megapixel resolution is still very good, and hardly so low that a regular consumer would notice the reduction in quality.
All in all, the Panasonic HDC-TM55k camcorder is a really great investment we believe. The availability of 8Gb of internal storage, HD video recording capability, and the 1500x maximum zoom availabity make this camcorder pretty much all the non-professional consumer would need. It is equipped with all the tools needed to shoot amazing photos and record all the memories that you will ever need.
