We love the dual view cameras from Samsung, especially last year's ST100, but Samsung is doing what it does best with all of its cameras and just keeps adding to the dual views to make them even better performers for today's photographers without breaking the budget on the price for the cameras.
The Samsung Dual View ST700 digital camera is the latest in Samsung's line of cameras that provides not only a large LCD screen in the back of the camera, but also a smaller yet still functional screen in the front. Why is this necessary? Well if you travel a lot and actually want to put your face in the pictures you take, then the need for the front facing screen on the Samsung Dual View ST700 camera becomes very apparent.

Now that's taking into account that it's just one person or maybe two that are taking the photos and it's just annoying to ask a stranger to take your photo, right? But it doesn't have to be for travel either. Anywhere, anytime that you want to provide a photo of your surrounding or activity you might be involved with, the dual view Samsung ST700 camera's front facing LCD comes in very handy!
Dual view isn't the best part of the camera, but if it were, we would probably just point you to our review of one of the older models. Samsung has also increased the resolution on the camera to 16.2 megapixels to account for the ever increasing ability of cameras to pack more detail in each shot while not increasing costs or price.

The LCD possibly offers an improvement also, but makes a reduction because of it. The LCD in the Samsung ST700 is now touchscreen, which is the direction that every digital point-and-shoot camera is going today.
Unfortunately the touchscreen is smaller than that was available on previous dual view cameras. The Samsung ST700 only has a 3" screen instead of the 3.5" found on it's predecessor. We don't know why the change was made, other than to say maybe to again keep the price down.
What is a nifty addition is the image stabilization provided on the front facing camera. Earlier versions of the Samsung ST700 camera had significant trouble with blurring photos when using the front facing LCD. That problem has been greatly reduced with auto stabilization.

In addition to all of the above picture taking abilities, the same applies to the use of the Samsung ST700 as a video camera as well! Record in 720p HD video format just as you would any other point-and-shoot camera with the main difference being that you will instead also have the ability to view the video from the dual LCD in the front if you would like to be in the videos yourself.
