The build and feel of the NEX-5K camera is solid and easy to grip with a magnesium body that is sophisticated and stylish. Definitely a cut above what you normally find in compact cameras which are usually made of cheap composite materials. The included 18mm - 55mm zoom lens is great for all around shooting but one of the really great additions to this camera is the interchangeable lens system. This allows you to switch from the zoom lens to an actual telephoto to wide angle lens options.
Overall impressions of the Sony Alpha NEX5K digital camera are that this will make a nice camera in the hands of two kinds of photographers; 1) The Point and Shoot photographers that want to step up and improve their photography with better equipment and 2) Serious or professional photographers that need something that they can put in their pocket to be ready for any photo opportunity.
