There are seriously a ton of cameras in the point-and-shoot category, priced between $150-$200 which practically all have the same features and functions. So the goal is to find the one that feels good to you but adds something unique to the experience as well. The Sony Cyber-Shot WX9 digital camera could possibly be that camera. The Sony WX9 camera is small enough to fit in a pocket, but not so small that it's uncomfortable to use. The features are also comparable to other cameras in this price range. So what we're looking for in the Sony Cyber-Shot WX9 camera is something unique, and I think I've found it.

The unique feature that the point-and-shoot Sony Cyber-Shot WX9 has that others might not is the ability to create and view 3D photos. Using what has become a standard for point-and-shoot cameras in generating 3D pictures, the owner of the Sony WX9 can fairly simply generate a 3D still photo or 3D panoramic photo with just a few hand motions. Using the sweep motion, the WX9 will stitch together the photos into one cohesive photo with 3D affects. Or to create a simple photo, just a couple of flicks of the camera up and down and you'll have a 3D photo.

You might think that you would need 3D glasses to enjoy the photos, but you won't. All 3D photos can be viewed from the camera's 3-inch LCD screen itself, just as soon as the shot has been taken. You will need 3D glasses and a 3D HDTV to view the image outside of the camera, but for simple viewing, it's right there on the camera for you to show off.

Of course, the other options available to the Sony WX9 camera aren't something we can dismiss. The high-end BSI-CMOS sensor generates 16.1 megapixel resolution shots with probably the most clarity one can find in a camera at this price level. The Carl Zeiss branded lens is a fully functional, wide angle 25 millimeter lens, providing just what's needed for those sweeping panoramics.
The Sony Cyber-Shot WX9 camera also shoots video in 1080i HD format. You might think you are getting short-changed on the 1080i over 1080p, but trust me, you are not. And the reasoning is because with the WX9 and its 1080i, we get a high fps of 60 frames per second. 60 fps allows for even the fastest moving subjects to retain focus while being videoed, cutting down on the choppiness considerably over those other point-and-shoot cameras that only get to 30 frames per second.
The Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-WX9 digital camera has a lot of great to spectacular camera features for one that's priced under $200. If you've been looking for a top-notch compact camera but need to save on price, the Sony WX9 should definitely be on your list!
