Tropical Fish for Sale
I've never been much of a "pet guy"; I just can't stand the smell of cats or dogs (especially in the house), and I don't like cleaning up after them. So, it shouldn't be a surprise that the pets I do have are tropical fish! Yes, tropical fish can be high maintenance (especially if you go with saltwater), but it's not a messy high maintenance. Cleaning the filter can take a little time, and cleaning the tank once or twice a month is a little bit time consuming, but it's nothing compared to needing to walk the dogs several times a day, or changing the cat litter. And I didn't even mention the cleaning of cat and dog hair!
So, now that I've established that tropical fish are my favorite form of pet, I should point out that I used to think I was forced to stock whatever fish my local PetSmart or other local pet store had in stock, but that's not the case anymore! It's very possible to ship fish and their aquatic brethren relatively safe through the mail, and LiveAquaria.com had made a good business out of shipping many different kinds of fish (freshwater and saltwater), shrimp, snails, and other hard to find aquatic selections (like live coral). I use LiveAquaria.com the most because the prices are relatively good, and the guarantees on your shipments being alive on arrival are 100%! Plus, you can purchase your new aquatic friends in small, medium, or large, depending on what size or age you feel is best for your aquarium. I also use Drs. Fosters and Smith (who own LiveAquaria.com) for supplies like new aquariums, lighting, and filters. Honestly, they don't have the best prices all the time, but if you catch them during a sale, you can get a bargain!
Ebay is also a great place to find good bargains on live tropical fish and their aquatic friends. Some of these are mass distributors of fish or live rock, and have good guarantees on shipment arrivals, but there are others who are aquatic lovers like us, who have bred too many animals, and need to find good homes for their fish. So, you can find great deals on tropical fish at eBay, but definitely be sure to check out the seller ratings before you purchase!
