Weekly Roundup of Bargains and Deals November 1 2010

While writing this post, my son and I were on the way to NASCAR's Amp 500 at Talladega. It's his first real NASCAR race; actually it's mine also. But I bring it up because I want to give you all a little bargain tip around attending a race like this. Do your homework on finding a hotel room! The hotel, er, motels around and just off of Interstate 20 in Alabama, from Birmingham to the Georgia line raise their rates considerably on race weekend, so you'll have to find your deals further off from the interstate. If you don't mind being around an hour away from the race, I recommend the La Quinta Inn down in Hoover, Al (just south of Birmingham). It seems to be fairly clean, it's in a quiet neighborhood, and the Riverchase Mall is just around the corner. If you want to stay closer, then camping at the track in Talladega is probably your best bet. Anyway, that's my hotel bargain recommendation for the day!

- Stihl MS 260 Chainsaw - I added 3 new chainsaw pages in the past two weeks, and revamped the others. These chainsaws from Stihl are the newest ones we've reviewed. I believe all of these are now only available as used chainsaws.
