If you read this blog often, or subscribe to it, you may have noticed that it has sped up considerably in the past week! If not, then that's good, because it was apparently fast enough for you. However, Google didn't like the speed of the blog, as it was taking upwards of 6 to 12 seconds to load one page at a time. But, after a week of solid work, I think I have this blog on the right track (at least speed wise).

When I started out in this business of blog writing, the goal for me (as it was for most bloggers in my area), was to create as many niche sites as we could, each focusing on a particular product, or set of products. I think I made it as far as 27 sites before I realized that there was just no way to keep up with:

• All of the writing for each site - it's not hard to write, but it is hard to write for 27 sites.  That would only be one post per month (if I wrote only once per day), and that's not a good way to grow.
• The maintenance to the databases and the files - as I've written more, the site has grown larger, and has gotten a good bit slower.  This is by far our largest site, but there are others which need to be maintained, and I just don't have the time to do so, and make all successful.
• Verifying security of the site - hackers are everywhere, and the more sites we have, the more visible we are to hackers.
• Researching new products - we want to stay current so you will visit us and it's hard to do that and run 27 sites!
• Having discussions with you, the user - I've had several good discussions on the site in the last couple of months.  No, they weren't all about bargains, but good discussions nonetheless, and I would like to keep that going!

Please note, I am not complaining about the work I have to do to maintain this business.  I enjoy it tremendously, but I think I could make it so much better if I only focused on a couple of sites.  So that's why, starting today, I am going to make Find Cheap Bargains the main focus of our company!  I still own 23 blogs and/or niche product sites, but I've found myself really proud of the work we've accomplished with Find Cheap Bargains.  So, I plan to harden those sites for security, then put them on manual (meaning no updates) for an extended period so that I can focus on this one much more.

I hope the readers of this blog begin to notice that increased focus on providing more value for your viewing my site.  If I do it correctly, I'm sure you will!
